Free Car Prize Draw – Prize Draw Terms

Who We Are

This free prize draw is run by Leadscale Labs a company registered in England and Wales with company number 04738797 with a registered office address at Unit 1, 6 Owen Street, London, EC1V 7JX , owner and operator of The.Car (“we”, “us”, “our”).

Who Can Enter

  • Open to UK residents aged 18 or over
  • One entry per person
  • Our employees, their immediate family members, and anyone professionally involved with the draw can’t enter
  • We may ask for proof of age, identity, or UK residency

How to Enter

  • Entry is completely free
  • No purchase, payment, or subscription is required
  • You can enter via The.Car by completing the entry form
  • Entries must be submitted by [closing date & time]

We’re not responsible for entries that don’t go through due to technical issues outside our control.

The Prize

  • One winner will receive a car, purchased by us specifically for them
  • The exact make, model, specification, colour, mileage, and year will be chosen by us unless stated otherwise
  • The prize can’t be transferred, exchanged, or swapped for cash
  • Images used on the site are for illustration only
  • The car may be new or used unless we say otherwise

Buying & Registering the Car

  • The car will be purchased after the winner has been confirmed and verified
  • The vehicle will normally be registered in the winner’s name
  • We cover the purchase price of the car only

Once received, the winner is responsible for:

  • Insurance
  • Vehicle tax (after any initial period)
  • Fuel
  • Maintenance, servicing, repairs
  • MOTs where applicable
  • Any other costs associated with the running and maintenance of the car.

Delivery

  • We’ll arrange delivery within [30–60] days, depending on availability or;
  • You may arrange collection by mutual agreement
  • Delivery and collection are subject to the UK mainland only
  • Responsibility for the vehicle passes to the winner on delivery or collection

Choosing the Winner

  • The winner is chosen at random from all valid entries
  • The draw will take place on [draw date]
  • Our decision is final

Letting the Winner Know

  • We’ll contact the winner within 7 days of the draw
  • We will require some details and evidence to verify you as the rightful winner.
  • If we don’t hear back within 14 days, we will choose a new winner

To keep things transparent, we may publish the winner’s first name and county on the.car unless the winner asks us not to.

Legal Bits!

Verification of Eligibility

  • The selected winner must successfully complete reasonable verification checks, including proof of age, identity, and UK residency, before the prize is awarded.
  • Failure to complete verification may result in disqualification and selection of an alternative winner.

Vehicle Condition & Warranty

  • Except where required by law, the vehicle is provided “as is”. We make no warranties or guarantees regarding the condition, performance, or suitability of the vehicle after delivery.

Ongoing Costs

  • The Promoter covers the purchase price of the vehicle only. All ongoing costs, including insurance, vehicle tax, fuel, servicing, maintenance, repairs, and MOTs, are the responsibility of the winner.

Tax Responsibility

  • The winner is responsible for any personal tax liability arising from acceptance of the prize, if applicable.

Right to Substitute the Prize

  • If the advertised vehicle becomes unavailable for reasons beyond our control, we reserve the right to provide a reasonable alternative vehicle of equal or greater value.

Right to Withhold or Withdraw the Prize

  • We reserve the right to withhold or withdraw the prize if we reasonably believe that the winner has breached these terms, provided false information, or acted in a way that undermines the fairness or integrity of the prize draw.

Draw Integrity & Technical Issues

  • We are not responsible for entries that are lost, delayed, corrupted, misdirected, or incomplete due to technical failure, system errors, or events beyond our reasonable control.

Using Your Information

  • We only use your data to run the prize draw, contact the winner, and deliver the prize
  • Your information won’t be sold
  • Full details are in our Privacy Policy

Fraud, Abuse & Fair Use

  • We reserve the right to disqualify any entry that we reasonably believe to be fraudulent, automated, duplicated, manipulated, or submitted in breach of these terms.

Ownership & Risk Transfer

  • Ownership and responsibility for the vehicle pass to the winner upon delivery or collection. From that point, the Promoter is not responsible for loss, damage, or costs associated with the vehicle.

Force Majeure

  • We are not liable for any delay, failure, or inability to fulfil obligations under the prize draw due to events outside our reasonable control.

Limitation of Liability

  • To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability in connection with the prize draw shall be limited to the cost of purchasing the prize. Nothing in these terms limits liability where it cannot legally be excluded.

Right to Amend or Cancel

  • We reserve the right to amend, suspend, or cancel the prize draw where necessary to maintain fairness, comply with legal requirements, or address circumstances beyond our control.

 

Publicity Consent

  • By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to reasonable promotional activity, including use of their first name, image, and general location, unless they object in writing.

  • We’re not responsible for losses or damage linked to using the prize, except where the law says we must be
  • If something outside our control affects the draw, we may need to change or cancel it
  • These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
