Introduction
Every manufacturer needs to ensure, that their first step in the world of EV is the right step. Skoda when it comes to Enyaq iV has just done that. It is still a Skoda deep down, and being fully electric is just the cherry on top. Solid build, spacious and jam packed with kit. It is what we expect from Skoda and they have delivered.
There is enough technology to keep you excited and the amount of detail on safety features will ease your mind and keep your family safe and sound.
Underneath, Enyaq iV is very similar to VW ID.4 while the same architecture is also used for the VW ID.3
However Enyaq iV does have some serious competitors to bash heads with. Kia e-Niro and more premium Mercedes EQA, and let us not forget Hyundai Ioniq 5 and sporty Kia EV6, both offering practical space together with great range and charging capabilities.
On the Outside
Given that it’s designed for comfort rather than speed, you might think it’s unsuited for driving – but you’d be mistaken. Although the suspension is compliant, it is also efficiently damped, so it never feels out of control. The Loft and Lodge models are the first in the two-wheel drive model lineup, followed by the Lounge, Suite, and EcoSuite — all of which are available in 60 and 80 horsepower configurations.
Looking for something more energetic? The Enyaq iV Sportline features a 20-inch alloy wheels, Matrix LED headlights, a sportier bodykit, and gloss black exterior trim. There’s also a lowered sports suspension for additional attitude. This is available in 204hp 80 or 265hp 80X trim, which adds four-wheel drive and a clever ‘Traction Mode’ to the mix.
On the Inside
You can personalise the cabin by choosing from five individual “Design Selections”, all of which will offer different materials and finishes to create an individual look and feel.
The Enyaq iV’s 13-inch infotainment screen is the largest ever used in a Skoda vehicle, and it’s efficient and filled with functions, with a bright, clear display that’s easy to read. All Enyaq models feature this tech as standard, along with integrated sat-nav and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
The entry-level iV 60 model includes a Virtual Cockpit digital instrument display, temperature control, cruise control, and rear parking sensors. Upgrading to the iV 80 adds a heated, multi-function steering wheel, front parking sensors, a rear view camera, and a Drive mode choose system, in addition to additional power and overall range.
At the rear seats, the cabin is roomy, with comparable head and legroom to the Skoda Kodiaq SUV, but without the option of seven seats. There’s plenty of legroom, making this a comfy five-seater. There are also lots of storage options in the back, as well as a pair of USB-C ports for charging gadgets.
The Skoda Enyaq iV comes standard with all of the newest safety features you’d expect from a new Volkswagen Group vehicle. As a result, it has up to nine airbags, including a centre airbag between the front seats, as well as full Proactive Occupant Protection.
Numerous cutting-edge support systems alert the driver to probable crashes in a variety of conditions and can actively aid in preventing or mitigating the effects. Front Assist with predictive pedestrian and cyclist safety, Side Assist with Rear Traffic Alert, Collision Avoidance Assist, Turn Assist, and Exit Warning are among them.
Trims
This is where things gets a little bit complicated. There are thirteen trims lines, with each adding additional equipment to an already long list.
